Harbin Thermal Power Unit #8 heating network station pump capacity expansion retrofit project | Harbin, Heilongjiang

Application scenario: Harbin Thermal Power Co., Ltd. (old high-temperature high-pressure thermal power plant, core heat source of Harbin city). After flexibility retrofit of Unit #8, an additional 140 t/h heating extraction was added, and the original 4 units 350S-125 heating pumps had insufficient capacity, requiring expansion. Pump foundation and installation dimensions must remain unchanged; original motors reused, only pump internals replaced.

Solution content: M&W ENERGY SAVING supplied 4 units XS300-560 heating network circulating pumps (2 clockwise + 2 counterclockwise), with 2 spare rotor sets. Impeller, pump shaft, and shaft sleeve upgraded to cast steel/stainless steel materials. Flow rate increased from 1450 m³/h to 1800 m³/h, head maintained at 107 m. Overall dimensions, base, and flange interfaces fully interchangeable with old pumps, zero civil work modification, only pump head replacement, significantly shortening construction period and reducing retrofit cost.

Project results: Suitable for ≤80°C heating softened water, adapted to northern extreme cold conditions, solving winter heating flow bottleneck. Single pump flow increased by 24%, improving heating stability in Harbin urban area.
