Shaanxi Longmen Steel No.3 & No.4 blast furnace circulating water system EMC energy-saving custody project | Hancheng, Shaanxi

Application scenario: Shaanxi Longmen Steel (core long-process ironmaking base of Shaanxi Steel Group). Circulating water systems of No.3 and No.4 blast furnaces include clean ring water for cooling staves, slag flushing turbid water, and furnace-front cooling water, with pump rooms, cooling towers, pipelines, and water treatment systems. Before retrofit, pumps were outdated, valve throttling caused high energy consumption, high pipeline resistance caused cooling stave overheating risk, poor water quality control led to scaling and corrosion, and system cost reached 14.5 RMB/ton iron with outdated energy performance.

Solution content: M&W ENERGY SAVING fully invested in a 6-year EMC energy-saving custody project (signed in 2016). CFD hydraulic reconstruction, XS series high-efficiency split case pumps replacing old pumps, large-radius pipeline elbows eliminating bottlenecks, variable frequency intelligent control replacing throttling losses, cooling tower fill retrofit improving heat exchange efficiency. Online water quality monitoring system established, 24-hour on-site operation team, real-time vibration/temperature/current monitoring, intelligent dispatching algorithm matching blast furnace tapping rhythm, web-based 3D visualization platform for remote monitoring. All equipment transferred to customer free of charge after contract expiration.

Project results: Cost per ton iron reduced from 14.5 to 10.2 RMB/ton, a 29.6% reduction; cumulative savings nearly 70 million RMB over 6 years. Pump energy consumption reduced by 25%–30%, maintenance frequency reduced by 60%, eliminating blast furnace downtime caused by water system failures. Early benchmark EMC custody project in metallurgical industry, validating the “professional outsourcing + energy-saving sharing” model.
