What can 31 years change?
From a manual workshop with only a few second-hand machines to one of the world's largest split case pump production bases; from an energy-saving service provider doing peripheral system optimization to a technology breakthrough maker breaking international monopolies.
For 31 years, M&W PUMP has never changed its track, never abandoned quality.

A Few People, One Factory, 45 Days to Build the First Pump
In November 1994, in Xinkaipu, Changsha. A rented factory building, eight or nine people, and a few second-hand machines—that was all M&W PUMP had.
At that time, mainstream general-purpose products in China's industrial pump market commonly suffered from high energy consumption, high wear, and high failure rates, keeping operation and maintenance costs high for industrial and mining enterprises. Seeing this industry chronic problem clearly, Mr. Qu Yingjie, founder of M&W PUMP and a technical professional with a background in industrial automation, held the simple idea of "making the energy efficiency and durability of every basic pump solid" and plunged into the deep waters of pump R&D and process refinement.
In 1995, Mr. Qu formally founded the factory, starting with the most basic S, SAP, and SA series pumps. There was no precision equipment, no standard assembly line; all process refinement and precision calibration relied entirely on the tools in the craftsmen's hands.

That year, 22-year-old "Wen Dia" joined as a boring machine apprentice, starting from zero. Mr. Qu personally trained him, dismantling processes and teaching techniques hand by hand. He said with a smile: "When I first came, I had too many masters—everyone was my teacher."
Life in the old workshop was hard: summers were hot and humid, and once the machines started, there was oil and heat everywhere, and work clothes were never dry; in winter, the windows leaked wind, hands were frozen stiff, and still one had to hold measuring tools to calibrate parameters bit by bit.
"The first pump the company made was model 32SA-19, and we made six of them in one go." "Wen Dia" recalled that in Xinkaipu at that time, everything was lacking, and even customers thought we could not deliver at all. Mr. Qu led everyone working around the clock, from molds and casting to assembly, and delivered on time in 45 days.

Pragmatic, tenacious, and leading by example—this is the character carved into M&W PUMP's bones from the very first day, unchanged for 31 years.
Once, for an urgent order, on the night of delivery, Changsha had a rare heavy snow, and cold wind carrying snowflakes poured into the workshop. Mr. Qu did not sit in the office giving orders, but rolled up his sleeves and worked with the workers until one or two in the morning. Assembly and debugging—he personally handled each one and signed off on each item.
During the 2008 ice disaster, the factory lost power, and some workshops and warehouses were collapsed by snow. All employees worked in shifts in sub-zero cold, shoveling snow, rushing repairs, and counting materials—no one took a step back.
Only a team that can shoulder burdens can protect quality.
The string of quality has been taut from the first 32SA-19 to now, and M&W PUMP has never loosened it.
Orders That Overseas Brands Could Not Handle, M&W PUMP Took Them
In 2005, M&W PUMP left the rented factory and moved into the Pingtang base, having its own factory area.
Also in that year, the company made a key decision: to connect with first-tier international brands, enter high-end OEM supporting, and from then on fight one hard battle after another in the international market.

In 2009, a well-known international brand posed a difficult problem: a batch of customized pumps required pressure resistance as high as over 30 kg, far exceeding the industry's conventional standards at the time. They selected multiple domestic factories for comparative testing. Meeting the pressure resistance was only the threshold; appearance quality and operating performance—every item had to pass. The team first did technical analysis and multiple rounds of certification, then specially manufactured prototypes for repeated verification, and finally conducted actual machine tests to pass one by one.
Result: M&W PUMP became the only designated supplier in China for that product line.
Around 2010, a large enterprise in Changzhou came looking for a long-shaft pump with a shaft length of 35 meters. This kind of pump has extremely strict requirements for shaft concentricity and operating stability, and at that time almost no domestic manufacturer dared to take the order. M&W PUMP took it, and after delivery, this pump ran steadily for more than ten years without even one replacement of a wear part.
What others cannot make, M&W PUMP can; what others dare not take on, M&W PUMP dares to take on.

From Making Pumps to Helping Customers Save Money
While making pumps, M&W PUMP discovered that the circulating water systems of industrial and mining enterprises had high energy consumption and low efficiency. Just as the domestic energy performance contracting model was emerging, M&W PUMP keenly sensed the prospects of industrial energy saving.
In 2009, meaning "the sea embraces all rivers," Changsha Haichuan Energy Saving, under M&W PUMP, was established. Jumping out of the traditional model of "making equipment, selling equipment," it began to provide full-chain fluid system energy-saving services.

Haichuan's first order targeted Liuzhou Steel, but without past case evidence, the start was not easy. To win the project, the team stayed on site for more than half a year, from technical diagnosis and operating condition analysis to customized solution issuance, presenting the transformation logic and expected energy-saving benefits clearly and completely to the customer. At the same time, it adopted the new "energy performance contracting" model: Haichuan fully bore the equipment and technical investment for the transformation, the customer had zero initial cost, and if the measured effect did not meet the agreed standard, acceptance could be refused, all without interfering with the client's original production operations. This pragmatic solution, completely on the customer's side, ultimately helped Haichuan successfully win the Liuzhou Steel order and formally opened the door to the steel industry energy-saving service market.
In the following years, Haichuan advanced irresistibly in the industrial energy-saving track: it completed the overall trusteeship of the blast furnace circulating water system of Shaanxi Longmen Steel, and even won a top-three national energy-saving order at Handan Steel—involving more than 120 pumps, creating energy-saving benefits of over 85 million yuan for the customer in five years. With solid performance, Haichuan successfully entered the first tier of domestic energy-saving services.
Core Technology Cannot Be Bought, So We Do It Ourselves
After running countless sites, M&W PUMP also saw hidden concerns: domestic double-suction split case pumps largely imitated foreign products, homogeneous competition was severe, and without independent core products, development would eventually hit a ceiling.
In 2012, the M&W PUMP Energy Saving Research Institute was officially established, defining the R&D direction focused on high-efficiency centrifugal pumps and adjustable variable pumps.

"The future core competitiveness of the industry will inevitably return to the products and technology themselves, rather than resource advantages." This sentence became the anchor of the research institute.
The newly established research institute had only 3 people including the director, but this did not stop M&W PUMP people from facing difficulties head-on.
The first hard battle was the AS series high-efficiency pump. The team introduced CFD fluid simulation and FEA mechanical simulation into pump R&D for the first time. But the Navier-Stokes equations have no general analytical solution, resulting in a natural deviation between simulation data and physical tests. To this end, M&W PUMP joined with several well-known universities and innovatively introduced statistical theory to calibrate data, successfully filling many industry gaps.
What truly made M&W PUMP go from a technology follower to a leader was M&W PUMP's globally pioneering and unique "adjustable variable pump." This pump underwent more than ten years of iteration; after project initiation in 2012, it once fell into a bottleneck; in 2018, ideas were restarted, and ultimately structural difficulties such as impeller width adjustment and underwater drive were overcome, earning the evaluation of "international leading level." This technology not only filled a global gap, but to this day there is still no similar competing product internationally.

In 2021, the 2.2-meter ultra-large-diameter sand dredging pump was completed and landed. This was one of China's first batches of sand dredging ship pumps driven by heavy oil engines, with a supporting power of 20,000 kW, an impeller outer diameter of 3.2 m, and a total unit weight of 210 t. Mr. Qu personally organized the tackling of key problems, repeatedly verifying with CFD simulation and hydraulic model physical tests. After the equipment was put into operation, operating efficiency increased by 20% compared with traditional equipment, and a single unit achieved an output value of over ten million yuan.
In the customer's words: "This 2.2-meter sand pump is currently one of the world's largest specialized sand mining equipment. Among domestic manufacturers that can take it on, we have not met a second one."
And the M&W PUMP Research Institute, having undergone these repeated baptisms of industry firsts, has also become a professional R&D center with more than a hundred patents, covering the full chain from fluid simulation to process manufacturing.
31 Years, One Thing
M&W PUMP's methodology is simple: operating conditions first, customized adaptation, energy saving as the foundation. Starting from equipment manufacturing, expanding to energy-saving services, and then deeply cultivating technical applications, every step M&W PUMP has taken has not been fast, but every step has been steady.
Today's M&W PUMP, relying on the Jiuhua production base with vertical integration of the entire industrial chain of molds, casting, machining, assembly, and testing, has been successfully shortlisted in Sinopec's qualified supplier list for three consecutive years in the split case pump field, with services covering core fields such as energy, chemicals, smelting, mining, water affairs, and fire protection. In the fluid systems of nearly ten thousand industrial and mining enterprises worldwide, pumps made by M&W PUMP are running.
For 31 years, M&W PUMP has not changed its track, has not chased trends, and has done only one thing: make every pump well, making industrial pumps more energy-efficient, more durable, and more reliable.
