Pingliang Hydrogeological Engineering Bureau XS Split-Type Double-Suction Pump Water Supply Project | Pingliang · Gansu

Application scenario: Pingliang Hydrogeological Engineering Bureau (state-owned water conservancy contractor), covering Kongtong, Jingning, Zhuanglang, and Lingtai regions, integrating karst groundwater intake, water treatment delivery, and mountainous irrigation systems. Eastern Gansu loess plateau has winter -28℃ / summer 38℃ with over 60℃ diurnal temperature variation. Karst groundwater has high hardness causing scaling; loess sediment causes abrasion. Valley pipelines have large elevation differences and strong water hammer effects. Urban-rural irrigation has large peak-valley load variation. Original S-type pumps had low efficiency, valve throttling caused over 27% energy loss, impellers wore and scaled within 3–5 months, pump shells cracked in winter freezing, lubricants solidified causing seizure, and constant-speed operation lacked intelligent control.

Solution content: M&W ENERGY SAVING complete XS split-type double-suction pumps: XS600-670 / 500-690 intake pumps (3600–4500m³/h / 24–32m / ≥87%, 4 units with 3 standby, 10kV VFD linked to well field level), XS400-630 delivery pumps (1600–3000m³/h / 35–65m, 6kV VFD group control), XS300-570 irrigation booster pumps + DG multistage combination. 304 stainless steel wetted parts for scaling resistance, ZG20Mn low-temperature alloy pump body ensures no brittle fracture at -28℃, epoxy zinc-rich + low-temperature resistant coating, all 304 stainless fasteners, silicon carbide mechanical seal, 220V electric tracing enables -28℃ cold start. CFD impeller efficiency improves by 10–14 percentage points, split quick maintenance reduces time by 70%, water hammer absorber included.

Project results: comprehensive energy saving rate 24%–29%, annual electricity savings over 1.2 million RMB; overhaul cycle extended from 3–5 months to over 12 months, maintenance cost reduced by 65%; 24h VFD constant pressure ensures stable remote plateau water supply, leakage reduced. Benchmark for for karst water supply in eastern Gansu, replicable to Qingyang, Dingxi, and Guyuan.
